About these calculators
23 calculators for the money decisions Indian households actually face, each with a straight answer you can print and talk over at home.
Your numbers stay with you
Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, stored in a database or shared with anyone. Your last numbers are kept on your own device so you can come back to them, and the page link holds them so you can share them if you choose. Clear them any time with “Start over”.
How the numbers are checked
Many of these calculators began as spreadsheets. Each one is tested to give the spreadsheet's own answer to the rupee, and where a spreadsheet had a mistake (a hard-coded figure, a cost counted twice, a missing tax rule) the calculator fixes it and the test records why. Every page also says, step by step, how its answer is worked out.
Rates and rules we use
- Income tax: tax year 2026-27, both regimes, last checked 24 October 2026 against the Income Tax Department's published rates and the Finance Bill 2026.
- PPF 7.1% and Sukanya Samriddhi 8.2%: rates for October–December 2026, last checked 24 October 2026.
- Everything else (loan rates, returns, inflation, prices) is an example you can change. Use your own figures.
Not financial advice
These are educational models with simplifying assumptions. Returns aren't guaranteed, and rates, taxes and charges change. Check current figures with your bank, builder, insurer or a SEBI-registered adviser before you decide.
